Curriculum Vitae



Osvaldo Decastelli. Born in Buenos Aires in 1941, he is a visual artist with a degree from the Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón. In the 1960s, he started working as a sculptor and art teacher . His first solo exhibition was held in 1974. In the mid-1980s, he began working with corrugated cardboard, which has been his sole material since. In the 1990s, anthological exhibitions of his work were held at the Centro Cultural Recoleta, Salas Nacionales de Cultura (Palais de Glace) and the Museo Sívori in Buenos Aires, as well as the Xunta de Galicia, Madrid. His work forms part of the following museum collections: Museo Rómulo Raggio, Buenos Aires; Museo de la Colección Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica, Buenos Aires; and of the collections of the following companies: Monsanto, CAPSA, Zucamor , Italpapelera, ATR. It is also in other private collections in Argentina and abroad. He lives and works in Buenos Aires.
This curriculum vitae includes all of Decastelli’s solo exhibitions and the prologues to the catalogues of his work; a selection of group shows in which he participated, and a selection of articles published on his work and activities. M.T.

2006

Juego de artistas 7, Museo de los Niños, Abasto, Buenos Aires. Artists from Buenos Aires and Rosario participated in the exhibition, which included eleven silk screens by Antonio Berni.

2004

Conception and curatorship of Árboles de San Telmo intervenidos por artistas, with Renée Cohen, Lea Kletnicki, Lucía Kuschnir , Marino Santa María and other artists. The project was sponsored by the Dirección de Museos del Gobierno de la Ciudad, the Subsecretaría de Turismo, the Asociación de Anticuarios and Amigos de San Telmo.

2003

From this year until November 2010, he has been the director and curator of the Decastelli-Arte space, San Telmo, Buenos Aires.
